What is the Bones Brigade Series 

Powell Peralta every year since 2012 drops the Brones Brigade Series deck collection. A set of six pro model skateboard decks. The legendary Powell Peralta pros that make up the Bones Brigade are Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Mike McGill, Rodney Mullen, Lance Mountain, and Tommy Guerrero. And this year the Crew is Back in Black! The decks can't be yet revealed but take my word, these things look great and always look way better in person.

When was the Bones Brigade Created?

The Bones Brigade, one of the most iconic skateboarding teams from early skateboarding, was officially created in 1979 by George Powell and Stacy Peralta. This crew, assembled under Powell Peralta Skateboards, became legendary with its innovative team marketing and introduction of future skateboarding stars like Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, and Steve Caballero. The team was created and was on display through some of skatings most memorable skate videos. Around this time many US house holds were just getting VHS players so for the first time in history anyone could watch skateboarding videos at anytime they felt. The creation and wide distribution of the VHS tape player in addition to skateboardings growing popularity was the gasoline that fueled the Powell Peralta Bones Brigade Era!

The Bones Brigade world tour even made its official stop at Amateur Athlete Skate Shop in 1986 on June 30th.
