Welcome showed up around 2010 and stuck out on purpose. Jason Celaya started it small with a clear idea. Not every board needs the same outline. The shapes feel different without being a gimmick. You notice it in a turn and on a grind. The artwork looks like it crawled out of a sketchbook after a long night, which suits the skating.
The full-lengths did what ads cannot. Seance and Fetish took those outlines through parks, alleys, and ditches that barely count as spots and made the case fast. If your skating feels stuck on the same popsicle, one of these shapes can jolt it awake. That is not theory. That is what happens when a board feels alive under your feet.
