What Is the Bones Brigade Series?

Every year since 2012, Powell Peralta has released the highly anticipated Bones Brigade Series — a limited collection of six pro model skateboard decks honoring one of the most influential teams in skateboarding history.

The Bones Brigade roster includes Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Mike McGill, Rodney Mullen, Lance Mountain, and Tommy Guerrero.

For Bones Brigade Series 17, Powell Peralta once again raises the bar in presentation and collectibility. While the full visuals cannot be revealed yet, it’s safe to say this year’s series moves in a very different direction from last year’s darker aesthetic. Expect something cleaner, brighter, and more reflective — a finish that interacts with light rather than hiding in it. As always, the in-hand experience tells the real story.

When Was the Bones Brigade Created?

The Bones Brigade was officially formed in 1979 by George Powell and Stacy Peralta under Powell Peralta Skateboards. The team didn’t just define a generation of skateboarding — it helped shape how skateboarding was seen, shared, and remembered.

The rise of VHS technology allowed skate videos to reach households nationwide, turning Bones Brigade videos into cultural artifacts. Skateboarding could suddenly be replayed, studied, and obsessed over, fueling rapid progression and global influence.

At Amateur Athlete Skate Shop, pre-orders are the best way to secure your decks. Each shop is allocated a fixed quantity, and quantities vary by model every year. Once allocations are gone, there are no restocks.

Are Bones Brigade Series 17 Decks Limited?

Yes — extremely.

Each Series 17 deck is individually numbered (example: 901 of 1,750) and includes a matching deck card. These are true collector-grade releases that are never re-produced in the same format.

Retailer priority and allocation were determined by orders submitted by Monday, October 27, 2025 at 4:00pm PST, which means quantities are already locked in well before the public release.
