Nyjah Huston Riding Slappy Trucks: Is He Done With Thunder?

Nyjah Huston just gave skateboarding something new to talk about.

In a recent Instagram clip, the camera gets close enough to his setup to reveal a polished truck with the Slappy logo clearly visible on the hanger. There is no mistaking the branding: Nyjah is skating Slappy Trucks in the clip.

That immediately raises two questions. Is Nyjah no longer riding for Thunder—and could a signature Slappy truck be coming next?

Does This Mean Nyjah Huston Has Left Thunder?

There has been no official announcement from Nyjah, Thunder or Slappy—but in skateboarding, this is still a big deal.

Sponsored professionals do not usually post another truck company’s branding to millions of followers by accident. Nyjah could have tested any setup privately. Instead, the Slappy logo is clearly visible in a clip published on his Instagram.

That does not officially confirm that he has left Thunder or joined Slappy. It does, however, make this feel more significant than an ordinary product test.

At the very least, Nyjah is comfortable publicly riding Slappy Trucks. That naturally raises the possibility that his relationship with Thunder has changed—or that something with Slappy is being prepared behind the scenes.

Until one of the parties confirms it, we are still speculating. But in skateboarding, equipment choices and visible logos often tell part of the story before the press release arrives.

Why Nyjah Riding Slappy Trucks Is Interesting

Nyjah is one of the most technically precise and closely watched skateboarders in the world. Every part of his setup is put under serious pressure, from huge rails and ledges to high-impact contest skating.

That makes his decision to ride Slappy Trucks interesting, even if this is still a test. Founded by longtime team manager and skateboard industry veteran Mike Sinclair, Slappy has quickly established itself with trucks designed around turning, grind clearance and straightforward skate-focused construction.

Seeing a skater operating at Nyjah’s level put them under his feet is significant exposure for a relatively young truck company.

Could There Be a Nyjah Huston Signature Slappy Truck?

It is possible—but right now, it is speculation.

Slappy has already shown that it is willing to work on distinct rider and collaborative releases. A Nyjah signature truck would attract immediate attention and give the brand another major foothold in technical street skateboarding.

A lightweight construction, additional grind clearance, stable geometry and custom Nyjah or Disorder detailing would all make sense for a potential signature model. None of that has been announced. Still, when a skater of Nyjah’s profile publishes another truck company’s logo clearly visible on his setup, people are naturally going to wonder whether something bigger is happening.

A Sponsor Change—or Just a Test Setup?

For now, the most accurate conclusion is also the simplest one: Nyjah Huston was riding Slappy Trucks in the clip.

We cannot say that he has officially left Thunder, joined Slappy or begun developing a signature truck. Any of those outcomes would need confirmation from Nyjah or the brands involved.

What we can say is that the trucks were visible, the clip is getting attention, and this is worth watching. If a Slappy announcement follows, this footage may turn out to have been an early preview. If not, it still shows that Slappy Trucks have made their way onto the setup of one of skateboarding’s most demanding riders.
