Skate Shop Day 2026 Feb 21ST Don't Miss It! Everyday Is Skate Shop Day!
Feb 14, 2026
Skate Shop Day 2026 is going down on February 21st across the USA — a day dedicated to supporting independently owned, brick-and-mortar skate shops that are the true backbone of skateboarding.
Skateboarding wouldn’t be where it is today without small shops. Long before corporate buyouts, billion-view marketing budgets, and mass retail distribution, it was the independently owned skate shop holding it down — sponsoring the local team, building community, organizing demos, supporting parks, and giving kids their first setup.
At Amateur Athlete Skate Shop, we’ve seen firsthand how much work goes into keeping a real shop alive. It’s not easy competing against conglomerates and multi-million-dollar brands — especially when some of those same brands choose not to participate in Skate Shop Day at all. With all the brands in skateboarding that could get involved, remember the ones that actually do.
The Brands That Show Up
Skate Shop Day is supported by brands that invest in small shops year-round — not just when it’s convenient.
This year, we want to recognize and thank the brands involved:
-
Skullcandy
-
Kyoto Skate Bags
-
Real Skateboards
-
Krooked Skateboards
-
YETI
-
Etnies
-
AS Colour
These brands help small shops in ways most people never see. They create exclusive product, dedicate marketing resources, coordinate logistics, produce special releases, and put in extra time and effort — without charging shops more to make it happen.
That matters.
Because when brands support skate shops properly, skate shops can continue supporting:
-
Local riders
-
Local events
-
Skatepark fundraisers
-
Community initiatives
-
The next generation of skateboarders
Supporting the shops and the brands involved year round is how we keep skateboarding authentic. Where you shop matters. What you support matters.
Why Skate Shop Day Still Matters
There are multi-million-dollar companies in skateboarding that choose not to participate in Skate Shop Day. That’s their decision — but as skateboarders, it’s important to recognize who shows up and who doesn’t.
At Amateur Athlete Skate Shop we have been supporting skating since 1982! With countless Demos, autograph signings, and local events that we still to this day hold true to Bethlehem and its Skate board culture. Don't forget This isn't a fad or a pop up shop. over 40 years as an independently owned skate shop isn't easy. Skating goes and has ups and downs, but holding true through the hard times is what makes Amateur Athlete special.
Independent skate shops are not just retail stores. They’re:
-
Community centers
-
Cultural hubs
-
Talent incubators
-
History keepers
Without small shops, skateboarding loses its foundation. The industry was built from the ground up — not from boardrooms.
On February 21st, make it a point to walk into your local shop. Shake hands. Grab something you’ve been meaning to pick up. Support the brands that support the culture.
