Vans Footwear and Geoff Rowley Celebrate the Rowley XLT 25th anniversary

25 Years of the Vans Rowley XLT

It's hard to believe Vans Footwear dropped the Rowley XLT 25 years ago!  Vans and Rowley wanted to create a durable, high-performance skate shoe that could withstand the aggressive skateboarding style Rowley was known for, but with a lightweight, technical edge. This birthed the Vans Rowley XLT. Vans was always know for good skateboard footwear. Rowley wanted to up the anti so after years of designing in the early 2000's Vans Footwear and Geoff Rowley gave the skateboard culture the Rowley XLT.

The Vans Rowley XLT is known for the Extra Light hence the XLT in the name which is an abbreviation for extra light. The waffle grip sole Vans Footwear created is present of the Vans Rowley XLT. With triple stitching on the toe cape, impact cupsole, and sticky grip sole, the Vans Rowley XLT is one of the most notable Pro model Vans shoes to date. The Rowley XLT became iconic not only for its innovative features but also for its influence on skate shoe design in the years to follow, setting a trend for durable, tech-driven skate shoes.

Vans Footwear continues to innovate skateboard footwear to this day. All while keeping it true to the Vans footwear original goal of making the best skateboard footwear. The classic heritage Vans skateboard footwear are still to this day some of the best selling Vans Shoes. The Vans Halfcab also recently celebrated its 32 anniversary. The Vans Half Cab dropped in 1992 and to this day is a best selling skateboard shoe. Vans footwear is continuing to roll out classic shoes that made a huge impact on the skateboard footwear market.
